In a strategic move to elevate Osaka’s appeal as a business events hub as the city hosts Expo 2025, the Osaka Convention & Tourism Bureau (OCTB) has partnered with Uber Japan to offer enhanced transport convenience for MICE organisers and attendees.

Launched on April 10, 2025, this initiative marks the first such collaboration in Japan aimed specifically at supporting the MICE sector. Through this partnership, eligible international conventions, domestic conferences, and incentive tours held in Osaka will benefit from promotional Uber ride discount codes – streamlining attendee mobility and adding value to the overall event experience.

The collaboration seeks to improve Osaka’s attractiveness and ease of access for MICE organisers and delegates; encourage Uber ride adoption among MICE attendees through exclusive discounts; and utilise shared service data to inform and enhance future MICE support efforts.

Driven by the 2025 World Expo and the development of an integrated resort, the OCTB is committed to establishing Osaka as a leading MICE events destination in Japan and Asia. They have established a MICE promotional body with stakeholders from across Osaka, aiming to attract and create MICE events that foster new business and innovation as well as drive global investment into Osaka.
