POV: Youโ€™re about to board the beautiful and fast Sakura Shinkansen to Kagoshima, Japan ๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ—พ

If you have a JR pass, Sakura (and Hayabusa) is probably the fastest (300 km/h) Shinkansen you can rideโ€”some faster trains like Nozomi & Mizuho will require you to pay a supplement fee if you want to ride it. ๐Ÿš†

Sakura is beautiful inside and outside. The first three cars is usually non-reserved. Watch out! Some Shinkansen lines might not have non-reserved cars. Itโ€™s always a good idea to reserve your seats. ๐Ÿ’บ๐Ÿš…

If you have the JR pass, itโ€™s super easy to reserve and modify train and seat reservations via the JR pass website. Or if you are in a rush, the JR ticket office/employees located beside the entrance of train stations can help you get/change a ticket.๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ ๐Ÿš„

If you want to explore the southern tip of Kyushu, the Shinkansen ride from Shin-Osaka to Kagoshima-Chuo station is only 4 hours and 7 minutes away. Free if you have a JR Pass, and 24,000 yen one way. Which means, youโ€™d max out a 7 day JR pass (50,000 ๐Ÿ’ด) value just with a round trip ride to Kagoshima.

Take the JR train to SENGAN-EN for the best views of Sakurajima volcano, Aira Caldera, Japanese gardens, ocean, and local food.๐ŸŒ‹

The local train doesnโ€™t run as frequent. If you canโ€™t wait, go outside the station and take the taxi. ๐Ÿš•

Youโ€™re welcome.๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ
