Expo 2025 Osaka received 1 million visitors in its first 13 days, but is set to fall short of organisers’ visitor numbers targets, if current trends continue.

Some 1.02 million people had visited by Friday 25 April, ahead of Japan’s Golden Week holidays which started on Saturday.

Oganisers have set a target of attracting 28 million visitors over the six months of the expo’s run, which would require a daily average of 150,000 visitors.
