Unsound to host first-ever Osaka edition in 2025 · News ⟋ RAThe Polish experimental festival will also return to New York and Krákow this year with a new overarching theme: WEB.Unsound has announced its first-ever Osaka edition.
The Polish experimental festival heads to the Japanese city from September 5th through 7th this year—it will also return to New York from October 7th through 12th. Unsound’s flagship edition in Kraków runs from October 30th through November 2nd. Lineups for each edition remain TBA, but the Kraków programme will focus on “bands and collaborations,” per a release.
All three events share one overarching theme: WEB. According to Unsound, WEB “refers to the building of cultural networks across borders, zones and scenes.” It also “references the early internet, and its optimistic air of radical possibility, now transformed into a wider online and IRL matrix of control, seduction, coercion and desire.”
Unsound is currently accepting open submissions for its 2025 discourse programme, which spans talks, presentations, workshops and lectures. This year’s slate will explore a broad range of topics including the AI economy, enshitification, pirate file-sharing networks, influencer cults and celebrity culture. Submissions will be accepted through May 30th.
