Pleasant places to pause, enjoy a drink, and relax. I'd also appreciate a similar guide for tea spots in and around Tokyo. Thanks, Georgene.

I had a conversation with a working international journalist the other day (note: he's in his 60s). He was unable to make much distinction between China and Japan. He's travelled to China but has yet to experience Japan. I was in such despair at someone working in that field still being so incredibly ignorant yet so full of self-regard and obnoxious righteousness about his general intelligence. I felt embarrassed for him and hoped he'd never open his mouth again as he has very little understanding about anything he's talking about when it comes to Japanese culture and Chinese culture Just because he's been there on a work jolly he feels qualified to talk about Chinese culture. Why can't people be comfortable about admitting their lack of knowledge and just ask questions instead; why the knee-jerk reaction to ALWAY have an opinion about everything?! Is it an insecurity? Innate arrogance? Complete lack of self-awareness?! Why are so many grown adults like this?!
the GOAT has returned 🙏
