Cycling Through Japan: My First 10 Days on the Road | Solo Bikepacking Begins

I started my round-the-world cycling trip in Shanghai, and this is what my first 10 days in Japan looked like. I will arrive in Hokkaido in May, the final destination of my trip to Japan.

From assembling a gravel bike at the airport (with help from a stranger)
to learning how not to panic in the face of mechanical confusion—
this is the beginning of a long, slow ride across the globe.

Starting from Lake Biwa, I’ll be posting the rest of the ride in order, day by day.
So if you’re into slow travel, solo bikepacking, or just quiet chaos on two wheels—hit subscribe and come along.
