e-sports, a new type of competition in the information age in which players compete in video games, is currently gaining momentum around the world, and the excitement is spreading to Japan as well. In recent years, many competitions have been held throughout Japan, and athletes who play as top players in the world have been born.
At the same time, e-sports is beginning to attract attention as a universal sport because it is characterized by the fact that anyone can enjoy playing in the same environment regardless of age, gender, or physical disability. eSports has the potential to be a tool for solving various social issues, such as regional development through new business creation, prevention of frailty among the elderly, and social participation by people with disabilities, and it is expected to spread to many people.
The “Power of e-sports to connect the future – JAPAN ESPORTS CONNECT -” is currently being prepared as an event where visitors can experience the new social value created by e-sports and its future, not only through e-sports as a competition, but also through exhibition booths and hands-on corners. The event is currently under preparation.

JeSU will continue to promote e-sports in Japan with the aim of improving the competitiveness of the nation and spreading the sporting spirit, thereby contributing to the health of the people as well as to social and economic development.
