Hyderabad: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy-led TelanganaRising delegation’s seven-day tour of Japan concluded on Tuesday with the team successfully attracting a total of 12,062 crore in investments to the state, which is likely to create 30,500 jobs. The chief minister is expected to return to the city on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, the Revanth-led team visited Hiroshima, where Revanth paid floral tributes to the bust of Mahatma Gandhi. Later, he laid a wreath at the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park and also visited the Atomic Bomb Dome, a structure in the city that withstood the atomic bomb explosion in 1945.
Hiroshima Prefectural Assembly speaker Takashi Nakamoto and a team of legislators welcomed Revanth’s visit to the Prefectural Legislative Assembly Hall, where the two sides held talks.
Addressing the gathering, CM Revanth said it was an honour to visit Hiroshima. “Your city means hope. You are a symbol of what is possible when people decide to do something together. Like Hiroshima, Telangana too is all about struggle, hope, and achievement through hard work, vision, and responsibility. We both share several values. Never give up is one of them. Hiroshima stands for peace, sustainability, and prosperity. Telangana too shares those values with you. Therefore, today, I am not here to talk about investments, but partnership. A partnership to help create a better, greener, and more inclusive world,” he said.
The CM said over 50 Japanese companies were already contributing to the growth of Telangana. “We are ready to welcome many more as there are opportunities in clean energy, electric mobility, precision manufacturing, and green hydrogen,” he said and invited the officials of the Hiroshima govt and business leaders to visit Telangana to see first-hand that Telangana can be their gateway to India and a platform for their global growth.
The CM-led team also met the vice governor of Hiroshima Prefecture, Mika Yokota, where IT and industries minister D Sridhar Babu explained the possibilities of collaboration between Hiroshima and Telangana, and Japan and Telangana. The areas include clean technology and waste to energy, exploring joint projects in municipal waste processing, sewage treatment and renewable energy, urban innovation and infrastructure, inviting Hiroshima’s expertise in disaster-resilient design, underground metro engineering, and smart city solutions for Hyderabad.
Hiroshima Prefectural Assembly speaker took the team for a ceremonial visit to the Assembly Hall, where the CM pitched Telangana as one of the best investment destinations to Hiroshima Chambers of Commerce leaders.
