📍1.5 day Hakone Itinerary

Visit Hakone for a daytrip or stay for a couple of day for the full experience! This Onsen town nested in the mountains is only a 2hr train ride from Tokyo.

After checking-in early into the Ryokan or hotel to drop your luggage, hop on the bus to Gora to check out the 📍Open air museum which is a nature walk with multiple art instalations and also hosts the picasso museum

Get on a cable car at the Gora Sounzan station to experience the 📍Hakone ropeway to Owakudani,
it was raining when we hopped on the ropeway and missed the amazing views of mount fuji and Owakudani. Make sure to try their black eggs believed to add 7 years to your life and check the stores for local souvenirs.

Make it down by cable cars to Togendai station, check their Evangelion displays before hoping on the 📍
Pirate cruise on lake Ashi.

Walk through the town towards the 📍Hakone checkpoint, a reconstruction of the edo period security checkpoint built to keep Tokyo (Edo then) safe.

📍Visit Hakone Shrine, get your fortune or a goshuin, and head to the water Torii gate for some amazing pictures (beware the line to take the picture can get long).

📍Finaly, and I can’t recomend this enough for those who want to experience Japanese traditional hospitality and culture, stay at a Ryokan, endulge in a Kaiseki dinner and breakfast and relax at their onsen since Hakone is well known for its termal spas. We stayed at the beautiful #yamanochaya !
