Kawaguchiko, a charming lake by the foot of Mt. Fuji that makes for dramatic views of this iconic mountain. But… Unfortunately, I had bad weather during my stay and other for a few short glimpses, the most famous mountain in Japan stayed out of sight (look closely at the last 3 minutes of this video, and you might be able to see it too).

Fortunately, the place is quite beautiful even without the mountain as its backdrop. Especially during the colorful autumn leaves season – meaning right now (mid November).

To get to Kawaguchiko from Tokyo, one can either ride a bus or a highway train. The trip takes roughly 2 hour, making it possible to visit this place as a day-trip. However, an overnight stay is recommended, especially since Mt. Fuji is the most beautiful during the early morning hours.

This was filmed with a Fujifilm X-T3 in 4K 60FPS. The lens used is a Laowa 9mm f2.8, and the camera was mounted on a Zhiyun Crane for stability.

Shot in F-Log and graded in Adobe Premiere CC.
