In this slow travel vlog, we explore Zao Onsen, a hidden winter gem in Japan—meeting adorable foxes, climbing a stunning snow-covered temple, and riding a ropeway to see the surreal Snow Monsters at night. After a full day of adventure, we stay at a small, traditional onsen ryokan in the heart of town, just minutes away from everything. Warming up in the soothing hot spring baths and enjoying a homemade Japanese meal made the experience even more special.

After a cold day outside, staying at Meitoya So felt like the perfect winter escape. This small, traditional ryokan is just a short walk from the Zao Ropeway, local restaurants, and the town’s famous hot springs, making it a super convenient and relaxing place to stay. The warm hospitality, the peaceful tatami-style rooms, and the rejuvenating onsen made our trip even more special. It’s one of those places where you just want to slow down and take it all in.
