ANCHORAGE, Alaska (WKRC) – A United Airlines flight diverted after a mid-air fuel leak.
According to Travel and Tour World, United Airlines Flight UA130 from Tokyo, Japan to Newark Liberty International Airport was diverted after the aircraft reportedly encountered a mid-flight technical issue.
At some point during the flight, the crew discovered a suspected fuel leak that was believed to be on the plane’s port side, Travel and Tour World reported. The crew made the decision to divert course and fly to Anchorage, where the plane safely landed at 17:13 UTC, per the outlet
The outlet’s report states that 290 passengers and crew were on board the plane at the time. After landing, the pilot shut down one of its engines and the aircraft was taxied to the terminal, the outlet reported.
According to Travel and Tour World, United Airlines confirmed that everyone on board was able to deplane safely and no injuries were reported.
