Japan’s travel platform Rakuten Travel picked Yokohama as a good port city to stay with lovers or family near Tokyo in the spring season.

Yokohama, located about a 30-minute train ride from Tokyo, is one of Japan’s first open ports. Exotic street atmosphere, modern cityscape, and serene portscape are all included. As if taking a walk, the walkable streets and open sea views blend together.

In particular, the area around Yokohama Station is a commercial center filled with shopping malls, restaurants, and cultural spaces. Recently, it is often regarded as the area where the younger generation of Japan wants to live the most. With access to the city center, comfortable movement, and security, both family units and couple travelers can move comfortably.

Yokohama, where historic buildings are naturally mixed between high-rise buildings, was selected as the “2024 New Three Night City in Japan.” The night view created by the Yokohama Landmark Tower, Ferris wheel, and Akarenga Warehouse combines with landscape lighting to create both the past and present charm.

Another advantage of Yokohama is that cultural events and night events continue throughout the four seasons. In April, the regular fireworks festival “Yokohama Night Flowers” and “Flower Garden 2025,” decorated with more than 20,000 flowers, are scheduled to enjoy spring travel properly.

Choosing an accommodation is one of the criteria that determines travel satisfaction. Rakuten Travel selected 22 accommodations with high actual satisfaction based on reviews and ratings of actual travelers who visited Yokohama. Until May 31, there will also be a regional promotion.

The list of accommodations released this time consisted of places that were evenly evaluated in room cleanliness, staff response, meal composition, and accessibility, centered on travelers near Tokyo. Here are two of the 22 representative accommodations.
