Zigstar Tokyo beat Alamos Osaka 31-23 in the 20th round of the 2024-25 Japanese Men’s Handball League H at Kishiwada City General Gym in Japan on the 12th.
Zigstar Tokyo regained the lead in a week with 17 wins, 2 draws and 1 loss (36 points), while Alamos Osaka, which has lost two consecutive games, fell two places to 11th place with 6 wins, 2 draws and 12 losses (14 points).

Zigstar Tokyo led the attack with five goals each by Adam Yuki, Tomoaki Hosokawa, and Taiga Tsutaya, while goalkeeper Akito Kai led the team to victory with nine saves.
Alamos Osaka led the attack with four goals each from Rihisa Ishiiguro and Renosuke Tokuda, and four players including Kento Uegaki scored three goals each, and Tomoyuki Yamazaki made eight saves, but he did not prevent his team’s defeat.
The first goal was scored by Alamos Osaka’s Hikotaro Katsuki, but as Adam Yuki scored three goals in a row, Zigstar Tokyo took the lead with a 5-2 run.
Hiroki Shinta’s consecutive goals kept Zigstar Tokyo in the lead, but back-to-back goals by Yusho Shimizu and Shoma Ishida tied Alamos Osaka at 9-9.
However, Zigstar Tokyo, which fought back, scored four goals in a row, leading 13-9 and finishing the first half with a 16-11 lead.
In the second half, Alamos Osaka scored the first goal due to Rihisa Ishiguro’s goal and Yusho Shimizu’s back-to-back goal narrowed the gap to 18-15. However, Zigstar Tokyo scored three goals and went on a 21-15 run again.
After eight minutes of a tight race, Tsutaya Taiga’s back-to-back goals and Izumimoto’s additional goal widened the gap to 27-20 for Zigstar Tokyo. Again, Kokoro Izumimoto’s consecutive goals led to a 30-21 run, and Zigstar Tokyo finished the game 31-23.
