I stayed at a historic inn in Magome-juku, hiked from Magome to Tsumago on the Nakasendo Trail, and enjoyed some delicious local food along the way.

  1. That was a wonderful thing to enjoy on a Sunday evening. All of the food looked incredible, the ancient style villages were a joy to look at and the nature along the hiking trail was stunning.

  2. Loved this! ❤Looks like you had a great time & ate very well! I liked feeling like I’ve been on a hike without any of the work!😅

  3. What a beautiful traditional inn , it had just enough modern touches to be comfortable without being in your face. The hike was breathtaking and beautiful . Thank you for sharing. Much love from the USA

  6. Thank you so much for this video. It was so good to see a small slice of Japanese history being preserved and enjoyed. My country (New Zealand), has a short history of human habitation going back 500 or 600 years where as Japan's history goes back thousands of years. It is so important for successive generations to protect the history of a country because with todays modern ways and technology, history is so easily forgotten. Thank you for sharing this journey.

  7. This is one place I really want to visit and do the hike. SO happy to see my home of New Zealand 50 Pax signed the book

  12. Have you ever climbed Mount Fuji? If not, would you consider doing an episode on it? I really loved this episode—it was refreshing to watch. I love hiking.

  13. The spanish for "trail" is "senda", which is similar in writing and phonetics to sendo, and there's a famous Colombian female instagramer called Megumi, her father is Japanese, Magome-ju reminded me of her….

  14. Thank you for this beautiful video. The hike through the forest looks so relaxing and calming and the dinner at the Ryokan looks very tasty. It seems that this trail and small villages are very popular with western visitors ?
