As we cross the Mikuni Pass, we get stunning views of famous Japanese ski resorts like Naeba Ski Resort and Kagura-Mitsumata Ski Resort. This route is a must-see for anyone interested in winter travel in Japan or exploring the hidden beauty of rural Niigata.
The video ends at a popular local rice shop called Onigiriya, where we try freshly made onigiri (rice balls) filled with salmon roe (ikura) and grilled salmon—simple, authentic, and absolutely delicious!
