Aizawl: Mizoram minister of state for labour, employment, skill development & entrepreneurship (LESDE) Lalnghinglova Hmar met Japanese diplomats in Delhi and discussed about possibilities of sending Mizo youths to Japan to take up jobs in caregiving and hospitality sectors, an official statement said on Thursday.
Hmar held discussion with two first secretaries of the Japanese embassy Hagiwara Ryusuke and Tsubakimoto Mayumi on Wednesday on job opportunities for Mizo youths in Japan. The minister said there are requirements in nursing, caregiving and hospitality sectors of Japan.
“Japan has the demand and we can provide the supply,” he told the diplomats, adding a number of youths are working in Japan through the state LESDE department and Mizoram wants to go in a bigger way.
He expressed the hope that the love of Japanese culture by Mizo youths can culminate into better relationship between Japan and Mizoram by working together with the Japanese organisations in the future.
