Fukuoka Winter Trip – Part 4: Dazaifu, Fukuoka Tower, Monchhichi and 290 Yen Ramen.
I spent a day in Dazaifu specifically in Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine. It was fun visiting some stores in the alley and tasting some snacks too. I also found a shop selling Monchhichi dolls dressed in Japanese. I’ve never seen these dolls in Hakata so I recommend this shop for Monchi fans. I think I just had the best umegae mochi in my entire life. It was simple but really tastes comforting. I also met a new friend on my way to the shrine. We went back to Tenjin together. I really hope we’ll meet again the future.
In the evening, I went to Momochi area to see Fukuoka Tower and the beach. I specifically picked that night because forecast said there is no chance of rain. The view was fantastic but it was quite noisy inside. I went to the beach and Marizon afterwards.
For dinner, I tried a ramen place that’s famous for its price, Hakataya Kawabata. A plain ramen costs only 290 yen. A few hundreds for additional toppings will still be cheaper than any ramen I’ve eaten in this trip. To be honest, the taste is really far from the famous ones in Hakata but when I was there, locals keep coming in which means the taste is okay.
I’m featuring Nanzoin temple, Ohori Park and plum blossoms in the next vlog. I hope you continue to watch my videos. And again, thank you for your time! Salamat!
