Quiet Morning on the Philosopher’s Path, Walking in Spring | Kyoto, Japan 4K

A peaceful morning walking along the Philosopher’s Path with cherry blossoms in full bloom on the eastern side of Kyoto, Japan. Near the midpoint of the walk we are treated to a bit of spring rain and a few falling sakura.

The Philosopher’s Path is a popular Kyoto sightseeing spot, especially in cherry blossom season, so I wanted to get an early start to catch the path in a more tranquil state. I started with the idea of walking the path south to north and then meandering around the neighborhoods along either side of the canal, but when the rain came I decided it might be nice to see the path first without rain and then with it. Today was also when many of the blossoms were at their peak.
