“Miyama Kayabuki-no-Sato” is a spectacular rural area in Kyoto that is popular even overseas!
Miyama Kayabuki-no-Sato is lined with over 50 old Japanese thatched-roof houses, many of which were built between the Edo period (around 1600) and the Meiji period (around 1860).
Local residents cooperate to protect the houses, regularly repairing the thatched roofs, and the area has become a tourist spot that attracts many tourists as a way of passing on traditional culture to the present day. Please enjoy the old Japanese rural scenery.
