SURVIVING -4°🥶 JAPAN’S COUNTRYSIDE YAMAGATA EXTREME WINTER FESTIVAL | THE BIZARRE KASEDORI

Probably one of Japan’s most bizarre and bone-chilling winter traditions—the Kasedori Festival in Kaminoyama, Yamagata

Wearing thick straw cloaks, drenched in icy water, and dancing through the streets in sub-zero temperatures, the Kasedori dancers are symbols of luck and protection. But nothing could prepare me for the surreal energy, deep-rooted tradition, and the incredible warmth of the community—even in the freezing cold!

🍱 Also featuring local eats, onsen moments, and a glimpse into the spirit of rural Japan.
🎭 Tradition, madness, cold, and joy—all in one video.
