In Tokyo, Westridge seniors on the “Where Ancient Meets Modern” trip explored the rich cultural traditions still rooted in everyday life in Japan. Experiential learning included everything from food (including a matcha workshop, traditional tea ceremony, and many Japanese meals) and crafts (calligraphy, Ikebana flower arranging, and even throwing clay on the pottery wheel) to visiting landmarks (such as the iconic Shibuya Crossing), temples, museums, and gardens-hello, cherry blossom season!
