Vegetables are very important and valuable ingredients for winter life. So our ancestors ware thinking ‘we gonna keep freshness veggies during winter…. But how?’ So they find the best way to using snow!
They find that way makes high sugar content! Why!?

A close-knit group of four friends who joined us from Singapore! Their first experience with snow and their very first time doing something so unique. They had the chance to try digging up winter cabbage, which was buried under the snow, followed by a snow picnic lunch. In a day camp style, they enjoyed a warm and hearty pot-au-feu inside a tent, made with winter cabbage they had just dug up, homemade sausages, and locally grown vegetables. The meal was completed with the ever-popular focaccia bread. It was a special lunch packed with the rich flavors of Furano’s fresh vegetables that warmed them right up.
This unique experience is available in the Furano area from mid-December to the end of February. The farm visit tour, winter cabbage digging, and snow picnic experiences are a hit with guests from around the world.
