Would you travel JAPAN by BUS? Journey from Hiroshima to Osaka

Hi everyone! In this video, I travel from Hiroshima to Osaka by bus. There are various ways to travel between cities in Japan. Many people will be minded to travel by train including the Shinkansen, but in this episode I put the Japanese bus experience to the test. Note that I have previously taken a thirteen hour bus journey from Tokyo to Hiroshima through the night, which also helped me to benchmark this shorter (albeit still nearly six hour) bus journey.

The vlog starts with me walking to the bus station in Hiroshima, about an hour before my journey. At the station, I give a quick tour of the shops, amenities and the ticket office. On the bus itself, I highlight various features including legroom, characteristics of the seat and the announcements.

I show footage of the journey including the natural beauty of Japan. We stop at various rest areas where I showcase the convenience stores and give updates on my experience.

After arrival at Osaka, I give a quick rundown of my experience. In short, there were positives and negatives. The answer to the question I posed could really only be answered by you, after watching my journey! What I will say is that the bus took me from A to B in good time, in a cost-effective manner and safely so, with several rest area stops along the journey. You be the judge on whether that is good enough for you. Note that there are of course different types of buses (also operated by this particular service provider) with other and / or additional facilities (also depending on trip length), so you have a lot of choice. As always, it is worth doing your research before you embark on any trip!

In the final stages of the vlog, I walk towards my hotel in Osaka and give some first impressions of the city. I also give a quick room tour.

I hope you enjoy this vlog where I travel between two iconic Japanese cities by bus! 1.

  2. I haven't travelled on long distance buses in Japan so it was interesting thank you. Not surprised about the silence and smoothness of it all, but I would be uncomfortable with the narrowness and separation board. There are not many overweight Japanese people!!!
I stayed in APA hotels and they were small but great.
Looking forward to visiting Osaka in your next video. 😊

  3. I would travel by bus in Japan. The bus station looks spotlessly clean. How do you like the food in Japan? Enjoy the bus adventure 😊

  4. As mens Japan kan opsom in een woord sou ek of orde of disipline moes kies. Wat opmerkend is is hoe skoon alles is. Daai bus se sitplekker lyk effe knap. Ek dink ek met my lyf gaan daar in pas nie. Willer Express? Meer soos die Willie Express haha! Pragtige natuurskoon! Daai sign moet hulle hier by ons ook opsit want van die badkamers aan die kant as mens met vakansie gaan is beroeerd. Ja veiligheid is n groot probleem hier by ons. Mens is altyd op edge. Plek is besig daai tyd van die nag! Die plekkie is klein maar jy is reg, mens is meestal buite en het net slaap plek nodig! Daai plek het n great view! Geniet dit Willie! Veilig bly daai kant!

  5. Hi Willie, dankie vir die puik video. Alles so mooi, die groot stad, pragtig in die aand. Mooiste uitsig vanuit jou kamer. Dis nou beskawing daai, skoon, heel paaie, en baie veilig. Jammer die bus het nie toilet geriewe nie, dit kos knyp!! Geniet jou kuier verder, groete!
