My Journey:
I started playing basketball in 2015 and near the end of it, I realised that I wanted to dunk. My goal was first the backboard of the 9’5ft rim and after a few months of doing normal body weight squats every single day, I finally touched the backboard. From there I set my sights on touching it with consistency and then going for the rim of the 9’5ft. My vertical jump was really low to begin with and probably began somewhere close to 10-20 inches but I had my eyes set on dunking. In 2016 my journey came to a slight pause and my jump journey was temporarily at a halt. However, I got back into training my jump near the summer and was so determined to touch the 9’5ft rim that I did 250 squats a day for countless months. After a while of doing this, I realised that my vertical jump was not increasing and I lacked something. This was explosiveness. I joined a gym and started a youtube channel so that I could get tips and help on how to increase my vertical jump so that I can finally touch and dunk on a 10ft basketball hoop.
