The Problem With Traveling | Japan Cinematic Travel Film | Shot on Sony FX6 and A7SIII
This film encapsulates my last 4 trips to Japan over the past 3 years. Out of everywhere I’ve visited, Japan has by far been my favorite place – from the atmosphere to the unique experiences, and most of all the incredible people. Traveling always has ups / downs, so I decided to explore my take on the travel experience to share what I’ve learned.
Being able to travel to places like Japan and tell stories like this wouldn’t be possible without the amazing people that have believed in it from the beginning – my Artlist Family. Artlist is a company I truly believe in and use on a daily basis. They empower their creators to tell good stories, providing them with the tools to do so. In this video I unpack how I uses Artlist assets, both new and old, to shape this story. From the Music and SFX you hear throughout the film to their new library extension feature in Premiere Pro Artlist was such an important factor in bringing a film like this to life. That on top of their plugins and stock footage helped round out the film and empowered me as a creator to create the story I wanted to tell.
Throughout this film you see a ton of different locations / activities we’ve had the pleasure of experiencing out in Japan. The best way we’ve been able to do so much has been through booking with KLOOK. They offer a one stop shop to book all tours, attractions, and activities all over the world. If you ever find yourself traveling to Japan, we highly recommend using KLOOK to help you save time, streamline your booking process, and focus on what you’re supposed to be focusing on – which is enjoying your stay. This project wouldn’t have been possible without my amazing partner – Michi Gutierrez. It was a huge collaborative effort when setting out on trips like this. Not only to create a film, but all the pre-planning that goes into it. Alongside helping me shoot and modeling within the film, Michi also planned out our itineraries every day to make sure we visited the most iconic spots within Japan every visit. I’m so thankful to have someone by my side to help tell amazing stories like this. Also huge thank you to my friend Nathan for helping with some a couple extra pick up shots out in Japan. Take a second to check out their accounts below and shoot them a follow!

Great video man! The message really resonates. Especially how you have to LET IT make you grow. Unfortunately I’ve fought against this growth focusing on the wrong things in the past. This is a great reminder!
