Japan will send a medical team to Myanmar early Wednesday as part of its support for the Southeast Asian country following a powerful earthquake last week, Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya said.
Iwaya said at a press conference on Tuesday that team members are set to leave Tokyo in the early hours of Wednesday. Japan has already decided to provide daily supplies for Myanmar as humanitarian assistance.
