50+ chasing my dreams ♥ Japan’s Most Underrated City | Hakata Doll Painting #japan #dailyvlogs #vlog
Welcome back to my channel! In this video, we’re flying from Busan, South Korea (where I got my Japanese student visa – https://youtu.be/v2ZXKUpRgQs) to Fukuoka, Japan, where we spend two peaceful days exploring this beautiful and historic city.
🛍️ We visit Canal City Hakata for shopping, lunch, and a magical fountain show (twice!), try our hand at painting traditional Hakata Dolls at one of the largest stores in Japan Shogetudo, and explore spiritual sites like Kushida Shrine and Tōchō-ji Temple, home to one of the largest wooden Buddhas in Japan.
⛩️ On Day 2, we take a short trip to Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine, try local snacks, and stumble across a sweet little pet café before wrapping up our journey with a ride on the shinkansen to Okayama.
🧳 I’m starting Japanese language school in a couple of weeks, so stay tuned — my “Getting Ready for Language School in Japan” video is coming soon!

Just read your story. Good for you for going for a fresh start and going for your dreams.
Good night😃 I am traveling to Fukuoka in May. I am going to Aso Mountain and beppu . I didn't know there was a fountain show in Canal City I'd like to see it if I have a chance. Because my hotel is close to Canal City. Thank you for the good information❤
I spent a week there but I felt like it wasn’t enough time (I did too many day trips elsewhere like Kumamoto, Kitakyushu, etc). Next time I’ll just focus on the city itself 🙂 also I love cinnamoroll too!! He’s so cute 😭
Hi Pennie! I loved both of the painted Hakata dolls. They came out great. I love your traveling style. I find visiting the little shops and temples a great mix. I hope your daughter’s hand healed well. Thank you for providing a commentary on what is being viewed. See you next time. 😍
I think a few of us are living the dream vicariously through you.
I wish you would be more descriptive with what you have eaten – as in the strawberry dessert. Was it matcha ? Green tea? What was on the hamburger plate? If you are in Family Mart I wish you would show the food options .
Hi Pennie! Love the video! 🎉❤I like that you show things to do that isn't the everyday stuff that everyone does! I also like the voice overs….its different from most videos I watch….I realise it's actually so nice to just listen and take in the views! I am so glad you got the booklet for the stamps…that is such a cool tourist collection concept right?!😅😊
Happy Haru🙏😇
Fukuoka is one of my favorite areas to watch videos of, its so lovely. I'm glad you were able to spend some time there! Looking forward to your next video!
Really enjoyed this vlog! Thank you! ❤

😍🤩😍🤩😍
I've always loved any type of collecting. Especially journals and stamps. Hope your next adventure is just as nice!
I’m so enjoying your videos. This video is lovely. I’m always impressed by how clean the streets are. It is so nice to see the cherry blossoms in bloom. I live in Brampton, Ontario which is part of the Greater Toronto area. It is several weeks before our trees start to bloom but hopefully it is soon as I’m going to a Sakura themed concert at Easter. I’m a sumi-e artist and I’m also studying calligraphy and yes, I’m finding it a bit hard. I look forward to following your future videos.
Beautiful place.
Man I love these videos. The dolls turned out really beautiful and it looks like you had a good time! Fukuoka was the 2nd place I ever went to in Japan in 2019 and still has a special place in my heart. Ohori Park is one of my favourite places on earth! Hope to go back again one day soon 🥰
