⁴ᴷ Hiroshima: Onomichi Station (広島県: 尾道駅) – Japan Walking Tour (March, 2025)
Just like last month, I took the ferry from Yokosuka Port and arrived at Shin-Moji Port in Kitakyushu City. From there, I crossed the Kanmon Strait back to Honshu and began my journey along the Seto Inland Sea, heading toward Tokyo.
I’ve traveled from Hiroshima City to Onomichi City. Since it was a Sunday, the area around Onomichi Station was bustling with tourists. Nearly every parking lot had a “Full” sign posted—it really shows how this city has remained a popular tourist destination for over 30 years.
In recent years, Onomichi has also firmly established itself as the gateway to the Shimanami Kaidō on the Honshu side, in addition to being a sightseeing spot in its own right.
For this shoot, I walked from the station through the long arcade shopping street that stretches east to west, and continued on to the nearby nightlife district. Since it was Sunday, the bar district was completely quiet, making the contrast between the daytime and nighttime atmosphere especially striking.
