To celebrate the opening of its new Osaka flagship, American streetwear label Kith has linked up with New Balance to release the Kith x New Balance ‘Osaka Pack.’ Featuring two mega sneakers, in the almost-two decades that the brands have worked together, this might just be their sauciest collab yet.
The Kith x New Balance 992 ‘Osaka Pack’ is dripped out in premium mesh and pigskin suede. Kith branding is printed on the tongue and lateral heel, and all of this rests on top of a Abzorb midsole that’s lined with Ndurance rubber to keep things grippy. This is a silhouette that founder Ronnie Fieg has taken on many, many times in the past, with his last drop being 2020’s elusive ‘Kithmas’ collection.

The ‘Osaka Pack’ also includes a special version of the 991v2. This is basically the spiritual successor to the 1300JP ‘Steel Blue’ that debuted exclusively in Japan back in ’85. It follows the same kinda colour palette, but it’s now infused with FuelCell cushioning for added comfort. Both trainers are then finished off with custom, co-branded insoles, and they come packed in limited edition shoeboxes.
Kith and New Balance go way back. In 2007, the Boston sportswear company approached Kith for the 850 ‘Brooklyn Bridge,’ and since then, they’ve linked up for everything from the 580 to the 1906R. And, according to rumours that have been rumbling across the sneakerverse recently, they’ve got even more planned over the next few months.

So the Kith x New Balance ‘Osaka Pack’ will only be available in Japan, right? Wrong. As if by some divine miracle, it’s set to drop at Kith stores, its website and app, and select stockists all around the world on March 21 for £220 each. What a time to be alive.
