HAKODATE in Winter: Beginner’s Guide | Hokkaido Snow Overload!

Hi everyone 👋🏻

In this video I will take you to have a scenic and relaxing winter ❄️☃️ trip to Hakodate.

From Hakodete Airport I will take a bus to the city centre. The bus route will end at Hakodate Station.
I will stay in Flexstay Inn Hakodate Station, the hotel is located in front of Hakodate Station.

Before exploring the city, we will take a super late lunch at Menchuubo Ajisai JR Hakodate Station. It is located inside Hakodate Station on the second floor. The ramen here are really good. I highly recommend.

Tourist spots in Hakodate can be reach by tram. It’s quite convenient to use the tram.
The first spot I planned to visit is Midori No Shima. But because I don’t see anyone along the way there, I change my mind.

The next place we will visit Motomachi. There are several unique buildings at Motomachi area, such as Old Public Hall of Hakodate Ward, Former Hokkaido Government Office, The Russian Orthodox Church, Catholic Church Hakodate and Hakodatesei John Church. There is statue of Commodore Perry. He was the one who sailed to Hakodate to request for the opening of Japan’s port for trading. We can also enjoy beautiful view form Hachiman-Zaka Slope.

Actually I want to enjoy sunset from Mount Hakodate. But because of a very long queue at Hakodate rope away I missed the sunset and reach the peak when the sun has set. The city view from Mount Hakodate is so amazing.

I will take you dinner at Lucky Pierrot a local burger chain shop from Hakodate. Their specialty is chinesse chicken burger. It tastes so good, highly recommended. Before going back to hotel we will enjoy a firework attraction at Hokadate Bay. It’s a free of charge attraction.

In the next morning we will have a breakfast at Hakodate Market. Hakodate is famous for its seafood product. If you come to Hakodate don’t miss to buy their seafood product.

Last before leaving Hakodate I will take you to Angelic Voyage one of the famous bakery in Hakodate. Even though I have to queue quite long at the snow fall, the taste of the crepe is worth queueing for.
