  1. Great video Meg! I lived in Japan for a little while and it is amazing how vast the temperature is especially from somewhere like Tokyo to Hokkaido , I was used to +30c in Tokyo but when I went to Hokkaido it was only +8c early in the morning while still not technically "cold" I didn't pack accordingly 🥶 Also for tipping , in small Izakaya's you can buy the staff a drink , I like to sit at the counter and chat with the owner / cook , often times ill buy them a beer and they'll have a drink with me. It may seem intimidating especially if you don't speak Japanese but you may be surprised how friendly izakaya patrons can be, my Japanese isn't perfect but I've still managed to have great conversations! One of my favorite things to do in Japan is to sit in Izakaya and chat with locals you can learn a lot and you may just make a new friend!
