Here at Lungta, you can enjoy 100% plant based dishes made with nutrient rich grains and locally sourced fresh seasonal vegetables. With a desire to live sustainably in nature, the owner, Yoneyama-san moved to this mountainside property outside Tokyo on the Boso Peninsula with her family in 2007.

On our visit, she told us how at Lungta they practice a lifestyle that utilizes the gifts of nature while minimizing environmental impact. We learned about their efforts to build houses using local wood and bamboo, grow vegetables through natural farming, and craft fermented foods.

Based on the ethos that “the body and soil are one,” Yoneyama-san uses organic ingredients whenever possible, along with seasonings made using traditional Japanese methods such as miso, soy sauce, ume vinegar and mirin. She doesn’t use any animal-derived ingredients, white sugar, chemical seasonings or additives.

By making a reservation, you can enjoy a homemade meal here at Lungta, and even make dishes alongside Yoneyama-san.
