We went on a Blue Zone Tour in Okinawa (led by an English-speaking local!)

Did you know that Okinawa is known as the Longevity Island? What makes this island a Blue Zone and what are the people doing to live to over 100?

We went on a tour with Christal Burnette, of Haitai Longevity, to learn about all the aspects of the Okinawan culture, mindset, and lifestyle that help them live longer than anywhere else on earth.

On this tour, we ate at a ‘longevity restaurant’ that serves all Okinawan traditional dishes, then we went to a garden and store to learn about different herbs and do some shopping, and finally we went to a bar owned and operated by a woman in her 90s! We learned so much and the conversations we had with our bartender will stay with us for the rest of our lives.
