Staying at a Luxury Ryokan in Japan, Niigata

For our weekend trip we stayed at Hotel Futaba in Echigo Yuzawa. I had stayed at a ryokan before and sometimes at better hotels as well, but I had never stayed at such a good ryokan.
A Ryokan is a traditional Japanese inn, offering a unique cultural experience typically featuring tatami mat rooms, futon bedding, and shared communal baths (onsen).
My female co-workers and I shared a room to sleep in, which might not be for everybody. But as we only stayed one night it was fine and Japanese people are always very considerate.
Our hotel or ryokan came with an onsen, and it even had two different floors to explore!
At the end of our first day we also had a kaisaki dinner, which I think, I never had before.
A kaiseki dinner is a traditional Japanese multi-course meal that emphasizes seasonal ingredients and artful presentation. It typically includes a variety of dishes such as soups, sashimi, grilled fish, and pickles.
All in all, I had a great time at this hotel and on our trip. If you have any questions, feel free to drop a comment below.
