Travel insurer WorldTrips has announced the launch of a new travel medical product for travellers visiting Japan

The product, called Atlas JapanSecure, is designed to offer emergency medical coverage to the growing number of tourists visiting the popular East Asian nation.

Atlas JapanSecure features a range of benefits, including:

Emergency medical evacuation coverage for life-threatening illness or injury, for costs of up to US$1 million
Coverage for eligible illness or injury – including access to private hospital rooms and medically necessary treatments while in Japan
Access to the Tokio Marine Safety App, which offers a suite of useful resources and emergency contacts, as well as real-time updates and assistance.

“Japan has become a bucket-list destination for millions of tourists each year, and we recognise that today’s travellers want more than just standard coverage,” said Mark Carney, CEO of WorldTrips.

Allianz Partners USA recently launched telemedicine services via its mobile app, in partnership with Air Doctor.
