In Motoyawata Chiba Prefecture lies Yawata no Yabushirazu a small bamboo forest surrounded by terrifying legends. It is said that those who step inside will never return. Some believe the forest is haunted by spirits ghosts and yokai while others claim there is a hidden danger lurking within.

Despite its eerie reputation this mysterious location is easily accessible from Tokyo and can be visited while on vacation. Located in a busy urban area near shops and a train station Yawata no Yabushirazu is a fascinating yet chilling stop for those interested in Japan’s urban legends and haunted places.
