SAPPORO — A South Korean skier died after crashing into a tree on the side of a trail at a resort in the village of Rusutsu in Hokkaido on Feb. 9.
According to Hokkaido Prefectural Police’s Kutchan Police Station, the woman in her 60s was on vacation and visiting the Rusutsu Resort with her husband. Around 9:30 a.m., while skiing the Tiger trail, one of the most difficult courses at the resort, she apparently lost her balance and hit a tree. She was rushed to a hospital but died shortly after.
