Travelling to Japan had been a dream for our family for more than a decade. Each of us had so much we wanted to experience, with a long wish list to accommodate varied interests. This included the must-dos from our beauty loving 21-year-old, a nature and food loving 25-year-old, plus a game and sports mad 24 -year-old and two culture loving parents. After days of research, we settled on a two-week itinerary.
Vast and vibrant, Japan’s capital city Tokyo can be overwhelming as a first stop. To make the most of our stay, we hired a guide. This proved invaluable in helping us acclimatise and appreciate the city’s unique culture. We stayed in the bustling Shinjuku area renowned for its nightlife and diverse eateries, making it the perfect base for our explorations.
