HUNTING WITH THE HEADHUNTERS OF BORNEO : Iban Tribe

FOR ALL TOURS IN BORNEO I RECOMMEND: http://www.wheresidewalksend.com/?connect=177

Join us deep in the jungles of Borneo as we stay with the Iban tribe, one of Malaysia’s last indigenous communities still living in traditional longhouses. We ventured into their world, learned their customs, and even went hunting for fish in the wild rivers of Sarawak. This offbeat adventure took us far from the usual tourist paths, offering a rare insight into tribal life, ancient traditions, and survival skills passed down for generations.

  1. Forest clearing for palm oil has ruined the rivers and streams but some NGOs have been doing great work to rectify some of the problems with success. Greedy corporate and government are really the enemy of these tribes who were doing well on their own.

  2. It's funny, merely two generations ago, my ancestors were still living in dense jungles and were known as skilled headhunters and sailors. And here I am, living in the city with barely any survival skills. 😅
