Spots in and around Tokyo to enjoy kawazu-zakura 🌸

πŸ“ Kawazu (Shizuoka Prefecture)

You can’t talk about kawazu-zakura without mention the town it came from 🌸 With a festival held all of February, Kawazu is one of the spots you should go to to enjoy early blooming cherry blossoms!

🚊 take the Odoriko from Tokyo all the way there!

πŸ“Oi Yume-no-Sato Park

On a clear day you can admire the view of the cherry blossoms with Mt. Fuji πŸ—»πŸŒΈ

🚊 take the bus from Shinjuku station all the way to the stop Tomei-Oi and then walk for around 30min to the park.

πŸ“Sakura Jingu

This is one of my favourite shrines in Tokyo and it’s graced with 3 kawazu-zakura 🌸 if you go there just for photos, you can go whenever you want, but if you want a goshuin (stamp) or omamori, I recommend going as early as possible!

🚊 Sakura-Shinmachi Station

πŸ“ Tokyo Skytree

While a classic, it is a gorgeous view! And once you enjoyed the cherry blossoms (and maybe got lucky with a red moon like I did πŸ‘€), you can always go shopping or even go up Skytree while you’re in the area!

🚊 Honjo-Azumabashi Station
