Japan’s Beautiful Cherry Blossoms at Kokura Castle in Kitakyushu (4K)

Kitakyushu holds an annual event named the Kokura Castle Cherry Blossom Festival. During this time a variety of stalls are set up selling a range of snacks and people come together to relax and have a picnic under cherry blossom trees within the castle grounds and Katsuyama Park. Being less of a tourist hot spot, it’s a great place to check out sakura during the brief period they’re in bloom. Cherry blossoms in Japan don’t last long (usually 2 weeks) and bloom earlier in warmer areas. Due to this, the north and mountains areas of Japan (where it tends to be colder) bloom later. This video is a walk around the grounds of Kokura Castle and a look at the festival taking place among the cherry blossom trees. This video was filmed in April 2023. This year it’s forecast that the cherry blossom will be in full bloom late March within Kyushu’s region.
