  1. My wife to be is from Mindanao in the mountains we are thinking about living in CDO. A lot of people are telling me to watch out for Mindanao because it is dangerous there what is your thoughts.

  2. There's also a similar market in Cebu called the Carbon market, which is about five times the size of that market. People treat you the same everywhere in the Philippines if you show them you are approachable, even in Cebu market.

  3. As a foreigner i woulddefinktly not buy fish from those open wetmarkets.
It can be hazzardous for your kidneys.

Everyone that are familiar with fish hygene and food safety, knows that fish has to lay on top of ice!.

But in these fishmarkets they lay in roomtemperaturez without cool ice to keep them cool.

It only takes 1-2 hours in room temperature before dangerous bacterias can overgrow.
    Extremly dangerous for your kidneys.

The locals may have better immunesystem due to constant exposures.
But even locals get a lot of kidney problems.

Governments should shit down such hazzardous markets, and teach locals how to implement proper food safety protocols.

Anyway for a foreigner, whom has weaker immunesystem than the locals against these bacterias, may jepordazie thrir kidney health.

Yes fish bacteria is much more dangerous than chicken salmonella. Fish when out of water has no natural defense against the bacterias, so bacteria can overgrow very fast.

  4. Britt also going in the other direction showing expensive food, million dollar homes for sale etc etc. Definitely not budget friendly. He won't last.

  5. The Brit is having fun,. He is friendly and respectful., The Filipino people are very social, loves singing, dancing, laughing., being with friends and family. I know in the west people have mentality of don’t talk to strangers.. reason for depression and feeling alone.

  6. learning new words and phrases is great but learning proper pronunciation is even better….I’ve been married to a Filipina for 41 years and when foreigners mispronounce words Filipino people in general make fun of you….ie; mayong buntag …buntag is pronounced buntog. Just some constructive criticism

  7. You’re a likeable guy But bloody dangerous. Ozamiz is NOT SAFE. Do some research. Kidnappings , strife between Moslems and Christians , drug addled , violent town.
Do not go out at night
Please don’t quote official statistics Same value as used toilet paper ( if there was any )

  8. Remember the larger fish have higher mercury and cadmium levels. I bought some swordfish in CDO (had a different name) and chucked it when I looked up the name

  9. Grow some Chad and ride out the north coast to Siocon. Theres a hotel there but in 2018 the road didn't connect to Zambo City along the coast. I was the ONLY foreigner to have come through there that YEAR said the hotel lady. Something about Abu Sayef or somebody. They cops told me to leave fast the next morning. Sketchy but a gorgeous coastline. Pagadian is like the worlds tuna capital or something. Got to that lake up in the high country.

  10. ozamiz city is a great place and very safe. there are foreigners and expat groups. Immigration office are very friendly. there building condo's and has a top notch Hospital. have a great time

  11. The one thing I am still to get used to is shopping almost daily, be it meats, fish, fruit, veges, etc. I found that because they are not "treated " they dont last as long as in the west, even in the fridge. So by day 4 I find I was throwing out food. But, you cannot beat that food is so fresh.

  12. Hi Chad ! Im from lanao del Norte. Liangan East but live in 🇨🇦Canada. Our town is historical there is a fort Almonte there if you pass by try to check it out . And make some video on it. Watching from Calgary Alberta. Stay in touch.

  13. That's what i miss so much, I crave for those fresh seafoods! All taste really good, yummy! …so fed up with frozen ones from other south east Asian countries sold here in the US, just sad 🙁 Thanks for sharing Chad!, Take care and God bless

  14. I like the fish Chad! I live in Fiji with a variety of fish, but nothing like the Philippines. I must come and check it out.

  15. That one dude at the beginning treats the locals like dancing monkeys and he loves to be the center of attention.
