⁴ᴷ Kumamoto: Kumamoto Station (熊本県: 熊本駅) – Japan Walking Tour (February, 2025)
Since it’s getting cold and I’m determined to cover filming locations in every prefecture, I’m heading to Kyushu—the only region remaining. I took a ferry from Yokosuka Port and arrived at Shin-Koji Port in Kitakyushu, then toured Kyushu in a clockwise direction.
Heading north from Kagoshima City, I’ve now reached Kumamoto City, marking the return leg of my journey. It’s hard to believe that eight years have already passed since the Kumamoto earthquake. The last time I visited for sightseeing was before the earthquake. Since then, the station building has been rebuilt, and *SAKURA MACHI Kumamoto*, located in the city center, opened about five years ago. I found myself thinking, “What was this place like before?” as I walked around.
