⁴ᴷ Miyazaki: Nobeoka Station (宮崎県: 延岡駅) – Japan Walking Tour (February, 2025)
It’s getting cold, and with the goal of covering all prefectures for my video filming, I’m heading to Kyushu – the only region left. I took a ferry from Yokosuka Port and arrived at Shin-Koji Port in Kitakyushu, then toured Kyushu in a clockwise direction.
From Oita Prefecture, I headed south into Miyazaki Prefecture, reaching Nobeoka Station. The building at Nobeoka Station is striking—it’s so seamlessly integrated with the station that you can hardly tell where one ends and the other begins. There’s a Starbucks on the first floor and a library along with other facilities on the second floor, making it tempting to take a peek even if you’re not a local. A short walk from the station, there’s a covered shopping arcade where the arcades and shops are in pretty good condition, but only a few people are wandering around, giving it a rather quiet atmosphere.

Enjoyed this unique, off-the-beaten-path journey through Kyushu with you. My wife and I have previously only visited major cities like Hakata, Beppu, Shinmanoseki, Ureshino, Kumamoto, Oita, Unsen, and Nagasaki, but look forward to exploring this region further on our upcoming trip in March/April.
