I took the green car on the Yamagata Shinkansen round trip from Tokyo to Yamagata.
The E3 series is scheduled to retire in the spring of 2026, so this was a valuable ride. On the way back, I took the latest E8 series, so please compare them.
The Yamagata Shinkansen connects Tokyo with Yamagata/Shinjo. The Ou Main Line from Fukushima to Yamagata was improved to allow direct Shinkansen trains, and opened in 1992. In 1999, it was extended to Shinjo.

A beautiful and comfortable one-day trip. The winter landscapes outside the window were breathtaking. I'ts a pity you didn't have enough time to eat a warm meal in Yamagata🥰

We missed our trip to Yamagata because of the heavy snow and Tsubasa service was cancelled on 8th Feb 2025… I would love to ride the E3 and E8 as well…
