Japan: Exhausting walk to see Fuji volcano at Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park

Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park is divided into four areas: the Mount Fuji Area, the Hakone Area, the Izu Peninsula Area, and the Izu Islands Area. The walk is in Mount Fuji Area and includes lakes, swamps, and plateaus. Mount Fuji is Japan’s highest mountain with an altitude of 3,776 m; it is a famous peak and well-known throughout the world as a symbol of Japan. The lava flows from the volcanoes formed the Fuji Goko Lakes (Lake Yamanaka, Lake Kawaguchi, Lake Saiko, Lake Shoji, and Lake Motosu).

Climbing almost 300 meters, the walk starts near Lake Saiko towards the Sanko-dai Panoramic Viewing Platform and the Koyodai Observatory with beautiful views on Mount Fuji and Lake Saiko.
