Matsushima Bay, Japan | Day Trip from Sendai

If you’re traveling to Japan, make sure to stop by Matsushima Bay, one of “Three Views of Japan.” The name means “Pine Tree Island” and it’s a collection of 260+ small islands covered in pine trees, which you can tour by boat.
The associated Buddhist temple Zuigan-ji is also right across the street and is considered one of Japan’s national treasures. It has an incredible series of caves built into the cliffside as well as a beautiful garden and quite a few incredible trees, so make sure to add it to your trip!
