  1. I so appreciate watching your videos of a new country, different produce, new markets, new food. Thank you for being so diligent about explaining what the food is, and for being so honest about the flavor. I am surprised how lovely & well-organized those marketplaces look. I love this series!

  2. Born and raised in chile now living in Dallas. That pastel de jaiva is one of my favorites! Grew up going to la vega for fruits and meats!

  3. 7:54

    Is
    A non-permissive environment.

  4. I'm so glad my favorite foodie is in my country finally and enjoying seafood and all the rest of our wide culinary experiences. Please, next time you have to visit Chiloé isle, the food is amazing there. Empanadas, Pichanga, Curanto en Hoyo, Seafood in general, Merluza Austral, Torta de papa, Fresh Salmon, Oysters from Quellón, Cordero al palo, etc, etc. All the Los Lagos Region is incredible rich in food experiences. I hope you come back soon. Best wishes mate. Never change your style man, you are the only authentic foodie out there for me at least, you always feel real and honest in your opinions, never overreacting 😂, I love that. I love the rest of the guys, but is like I respect concerning food, your opinion over the rest. Also your palate is more developed and you got a way wider range to describe in words food, that is a poet level talent. Well, keep enjoying Chile ❤.

  5. The pasteleras or pailas, bowls, that you keep seeing the corn and crab pies baked in are made of greda, what we call clay. It's a specially treated clay that has been heat treated to withstand high temperatures for these kinds of recipes. You can find these clay pots and bowls throughout Santiago in different handmade craft stores in Santiago, but they traditionally come from small town outside of Santiago called Pomaire. Highly recommend you visit the town and get the traditional bowls and piggie bank.

Really enjoying your videos showing the wonderful stuff of Chile and traditional cuisine!

  6. I thank you for your videos. I'm 70 and never traveled outside of usa. I'm a foodie but limited to texas. I travel vicariously thru you. May you always be healthy and continue to make videos
