Japan’s Earliest Cherry Blossoms: Atami’s Cherry Blossoms Are Peaking Right Now! [4K/HDR/Binaural]

The early-blooming cherry blossoms have finally started to open, so I took a trip to Atami today. Cherry blossoms need a period of cold weather to bloom properly. However, since this year has been unusually warm, Atami’s cherry blossoms, which typically bloom at the end of January, have been significantly delayed. From what I saw, they were about 80% in bloom. That means this coming weekend (2/15, 2/16) will likely be the perfect time to see them at their best. If you’re in Tokyo right now, don’t miss this chance! Atami is just 1 hour and 45 minutes away by local train or only 45 minutes by Shinkansen.
